Broadly, I have worked towards raising the socioecological values of forests (specially in the Mediterranean region) through applied research to promote its sustainable management.

Currently, my research aims at unveiling the potential chemical and microbiological interactions between forests and human health. I combine ecological and chemical research with experimental studies with humans in order to assess to what extend forests can be considered a source of health.
